City hosts free family-friendly concerts across venues with diverse acts.
Kick back and enjoy some free, family-friendly fun with the return of Coquitlam’s Summer Concert Series, boasting a spectacular musical lineup for 2024.
Pack a snack or grab a bite on-site for the four Friday concerts this summer. The shows on July 19, August 2, and September 6 will be at the Town Centre Park Community Plaza, while the August 16 performance is set to rock Blue Mountain Park for the first time. This series is sponsored by corporations including Jim Pattison Subaru Coquitlam, Polygon and Anthem Properties.
This year’s powerhouse performers will be on stage for two full 45-minute sets each night, hosted by a phenomenal lineup of emcees to ensure an unforgettable Summer Concert Series experience.
On July 19 at Town Centre Park, from 7–9 p.m., the Big Easy Funk Ensemble kicks off the series. Formed in East Van, they fuse the musical traditions of New Orleans with a West Coast flair.
Dr. Strangelove, Vancouver’s house band known for their party anthems, takes the stage on August 2 at Town Centre Park. Celebrated for energizing venues from The Roxy to performance halls worldwide, Dr. Strangelove guarantees a memorable evening.
On August 16, Blue Mountain Park will host Sebastian Gaskin, whose genre-blending music bridges timeless spirit and contemporary wordplay. His performance is set from 7–9 p.m.
The series concludes on September 6 at Town Centre Park with a dynamic show by headliner Said the Whale, known for their Juno Award-winning, independent spirit honed through years in the Canadian music scene. Opening the evening will be alternative folk artist Etienne Siew, whose introspective music draws inspiration from B.C.’s natural beauty.
Attendees can expect diverse food truck offerings, with each concert boasting different vendors like Green Coast Coffee, Melt City Grilled Cheese, and Tornado Potato.
Corporate partners like Jim Pattison Subaru Coquitlam provide essential support for the series. The dealership offers a vast selection of vehicles, including the new 2024 Solterra all-electric SUV.
Polygon, a leading homebuilder in B.C., and real estate developer Anthem Properties also sponsor the series, contributing to enhancing community life.
