Residents encouraged to apply for advisory roles and library board positions.
The City of Coquitlam is reaching out to residents passionate about their community to join its Advisory Committees and the Coquitlam Public Library Board.
Applications are being accepted online for two-year term positions on seven advisory committees and the library board, with a deadline of 12 p.m., Thursday, September 24.
Coquitlam’s advisory committees provide insightful advice and recommendations to the City Council and staff on specific issues. The available committees include Accessibility and Inclusion, Community Safety, Culture Services, Economic Development, Multiculturalism, Sports and Recreation, as well as Sustainability and Environment.
Eligible candidates are encouraged to visit the city’s website to assess which committee aligns with their interests and experience.

The library operates at two main branches in City Centre and Poirier, in addition to a mobile service, providing a diverse range of materials including those in multiple languages and accessible formats.
An online information session for potential library board members will be held on Tuesday, September 17, via Zoom.
Candidates are evaluated based on their residency, involvement, and understanding of library or advisory committee functions. The city values diverse backgrounds and perspectives.
Interested residents can apply from September 3 to September 24 at 12 p.m. through the online platform. Paper applications are available upon request.
