Coquitlam hosts events to promote biking as part of Go by Bike Week.

Coquitlam is inviting cyclists to partake in Celebration Stations during Go by Bike Week from September 23 to October 6.

In partnership with HUB Cycling, Coquitlam offers events with educational activities, celebration stations, and cycling challenges for teams or individuals.

Two public events will be held on September 24 at Lafarge Lake-Douglas Station and on September 25 at Burquitlam SkyTrain Station, both from 4 to 6 p.m.

The stations will provide free maps, resources, snacks, and drinks. Participants can gain cycling tips and enter to win prizes by logging their daily trips or register for maintenance workshops.

Coquitlam continues its commitment to cycling and sustainable transportation with 33km of cycling infrastructure.

The city offers bike maintenance stations and temporary parking options through TransLink bike parkades.

E-bikes and e-scooters are available for rent, and micromobility users can use the CoquitlamConnect app for route planning.

Phase 2 of the Guildford Greenway project aims to improve cycling facilities by separating cyclists from vehicles and pedestrians.

Plans for improvements in Southwest Coquitlam include a project for Nelson Street in 2025.

Active transportation bylaws have been amended to encourage cycling, including more bike parking and maintenance facilities.

The city is updating its Strategic Transportation Plan, considering micromobility and aligning it with sustainability and economic strategies.

Coquitlam recognizes and honors its heritage as part of the traditional lands of the kʷikʷəƛ̓əm and other Coast Salish Peoples.
