Coquitlam welcomes residents to reduce waste by participating in its Repair Café event.

Coquitlam residents can keep items out of the landfill by bringing them to the City’s sixth Repair Café on Saturday, January 25, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Mike Butler Room at Dogwood Pavilion.
Repair Cafés are volunteer-driven events that not only fix broken items but also provide a unique, hands-on learning experience for participants. These events build connections within the community and reduce waste, creating a win-win situation for Coquitlam residents.
Coquitlam is looking for handy community members with a passion for sharing skills and reducing waste to join its group of 42 Repair Café volunteers. Whether you’re experienced with sewing, electrical repairs, or bike maintenance, your talents can help keep items out of the landfill while building a more sustainable community.
Coquitlam residents can support the circular economy by participating in programs like the Repair Café. This approach to consumption helps address climate change by lowering emissions tied to product manufacturing, use, and disposal.
Coquitlam offers various tools for residents to reduce waste and embrace sustainable practices. These include recycling options at the United Boulevard Recycling and Waste Centre, the Waste Wizard tool for disposal guidance, a curbside collection app, and subsidized backyard composters.
