Not-for-profit organizations urged to apply for spring funding

The spring Spirit of Coquitlam Grant application will be open from February 3 to March 3, inviting registered not-for-profit organizations based in and serving Coquitlam residents to apply for financial support from the City.

Since its inception in 2002, the Spirit of Coquitlam Grant program has distributed more than $9.8 million to 260 community organizations.

Grants are awarded twice annually, in spring and fall. Eligible projects must take place in Coquitlam, primarily benefit its residents, be sustainable beyond the grant period, and align with the City’s strategic priorities.

Applicants are advised to be in good standing with the City. Grant amounts vary by category and project, and funding is not guaranteed as it is a competitive process with priority given to new applicants.

The City is hosting a webinar on February 13 to assist organizations in understanding the grant criteria and application process. Interested parties can contact the Grant Coordinators for further guidance before submission.

Applications will be reviewed in the spring, with results announced by July 2025. Fall intake opens in September 2025.

Coquitlam maintains timely and transparent communications through various channels including newsletters, social media, and a mobile app. Residents can choose their preferred method to stay informed.

More information on how to connect and receive updates from the City is available on the Coquitlam website.

Media contacts for further inquiry are provided, including Manager of Business and Innovation, Darryl Lal, and Grant Coordinators.

Coquitlam recognizes its location on the traditional lands of the kʷikʷəƛ̓əm and acknowledges the heritage shared with other Coast Salish Peoples.
