Residents to elect new trustee impacting education policies and community values.
This Saturday marks an important opportunity for Coquitlam residents to influence their local education system in the SD43 (Area 1) School Board by-election.
School trustees play a vital role in shaping educational policies, allocating resources, and guiding the overall direction of schools throughout the district, which encompasses Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Port Moody, Anmore, and Belcarra.
Voters will choose one representative to serve on the SD43 (Area 1) Board of Education, with candidate information available online at coquitlam.ca/vote.
Elections will be held on February 22, with polls open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. across eight accessible voting locations in the city.
Voting venues include Alderson Elementary School, Bramblewood Elementary School, and Como Lake Middle School, among others listed on the city’s website.
