City of Coquitlam issues utility bills as costs rise due to regional projects

Coquitlam property owners will soon receive their utility bills, with payments due by March 31, 2025.

The bills, issued at the end of February, cover costs for water, sewer services, and waste collection, separate from property taxes. These fees support operations such as pipe and reservoir replacement and public education.

Further details on the allocation of utility fees can be found with the utility bills or online at coquitlam.ca/UtilityBill.

A five percent penalty will apply to unpaid accounts after March 31. In case of billing inquiries or missing bills, residents can contact the City’s Revenue Services Division.

Online payment options are available at coquitlam.ca/UtilityPayment.

The Metro Vancouver Regional District, responsible for regional utilities, impacts local fees. Coquitlam is using contingency funds to reduce the sewer and drainage fee increase from 20% to 16%, partly due to the North Shore Wastewater Treatment Plant project.
