Repair Cafés are community-powered events where skilled volunteers fix broken items while offering participants a hands-on learning experience. These gatherings foster connections, promote sustainability, and help reduce waste—a win-win for Coquitlam.

Coquitlam residents can support the circular economy, which promotes designing products for longevity, repair, and reuse to eliminate waste, by choosing repairable items and participating in programs like the Repair Café.
Coquitlam offers a range of tools for residents to reduce waste and embrace sustainable practices. In addition to curbside recycling, residents can use the United Boulevard Recycling and Waste Centre and other local recycling facilities.
The Waste Wizard tool helps residents find donation or recycling options, while the Curbside Collection app informs them about waste collection days and offers waste-reduction tips. Additionally, the city offers backyard composters at a subsidized price.
