Community voices invited to shape city’s future during open forum with council members.
Coquitlam residents, business owners, and community partners are encouraged to participate in a Town Hall Meeting with city councillors on Wednesday, May 7, from 7 to 9 p.m.
Community feedback is crucial in steering Coquitlam’s future, guiding council and staff to understand societal priorities, improve City services, and seize new opportunities.
Attendees of the Town Hall Meeting can expect an open forum with no agenda, where they can share their thoughts, propose ideas, and directly question City council members. Senior City staff will also listen and provide insights.
Such meetings offer a valuable opportunity for citizens to connect with their local government and meet fellow community members.
Everyone is welcome to participate. The meeting can be attended in person at City Hall’s Council Chambers, or online via a Zoom webinar, with prior registration required. Additionally, questions can be emailed to TownHall@coquitlam.ca before 4 p.m. on the meeting day.
Comments can also be submitted through social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram before 4 p.m. on May 7. Furthermore, the meeting can be watched live on the city’s webcast portal, with a recording available later.
Advance questions are encouraged, though attendees can also raise questions in person or through Zoom during the meeting. Due to time constraints, similar questions might be merged for council consideration.
Staff will follow up on unanswered questions after the Town Hall, with responses posted online. Anonymous inputs will not receive follow-up, and topics deviating from municipal responsibilities might not be addressed.
Questions must adhere to the City’s guidelines for respectful discourse, with more details available on Coquitlam’s Town Hall webpage. Meeting minutes will later be posted online for public access.
Participants submitting inquiries or comments should note that their information will join the public domain, abiding by privacy legislations.
