The initiative aims to foster community connections by motivating neighbors to gather, share, and celebrate their community.
Residents are invited to host their own events by applying for funding online. The $150 grant can cover expenses like food, supplies, equipment rentals, or entertainment, preferably sourced from local businesses.
Beyond financial support, confirmed hosts receive additional benefits, including borrowing a Block Party Play Kit, downloading a Block Party Handbook, and requesting road closures for their event.
The program provides a straightforward opportunity to build relationships and strengthen the community.
For inspiration, past block party hosts have suggested fun ideas, such as neighborhood trivia, obstacle courses, and game stations.
