City supports local nonprofits with Spirit of Coquitlam Grant program.

The City of Coquitlam has allocated more than $180,000 through grants to bolster local nonprofit organizations and their community-focused initiatives.

Twenty groups will benefit from the Spring 2025 distribution of the Spirit of Coquitlam program, aiding in hosting events, launching programs, and developing community spaces. Projects funded include garden plots, cultural festivals, and outreach services.

Spirit Grants are awarded biannually, aiming to convert community-driven ideas into reality. Eligible projects align with strategic city goals and apply through funding streams such as capital projects, community support, festivals, and sports.

Details regarding this season’s recipients are provided in the background information. The subsequent grant submission opportunity opens on September 2, 2025.

Initiated in 2002, the Spirit of Coquitlam Grant Program has dispensed over $9.8 million to 260 organizations, funded through the Casino Host Agreement revenue.

The City acknowledges the traditional and ancestral lands of the kʷikʷəƛ̓əm, shared historically with other Coast Salish Peoples.
