Metro Vancouver’s largest free outdoor lights display kicks off November 22 with performances and activities.
Coquitlam’s Lights at Lafarge is making a comeback, featuring Metro Vancouver’s largest free outdoor lights display along with fresh lighting features and an exciting kick-off event for the holiday season.
This year’s Lights at Lafarge Kick-off Event is scheduled for Friday, November 22, from 5 to 8 p.m. Attendees can enjoy live performances on the Town Centre Park Community Plaza stage.
Performances include soulful tunes by Krystle Dos Santos, holiday carols by the Coastal Sound Children’s Choir, energetic hits from YVR Pop Choir, and a fire show by NZR Productions as the main event.
Visitors are encouraged to come hungry and enjoy a range of food vendors available from 5 to 9 p.m., offering options for various dietary preferences.
In addition to the dazzling light displays, guests can experience roving entertainers and participate in family-oriented activities organized by local arts groups.
Activities include festive crafts with Evergreen Cultural Centre and Coquitlam Heritage Society, finger knitting with Place des Arts, holiday card-writing with Coquitlam Public Library, and joining a Light Brigade activity with Coquitlam’s Park Spark.
Attendees are advised to dress warmly and consider carpooling or using public transit, as parking is unavailable at Town Centre Park Community Centre and Evergreen Cultural Centre. The nearby SkyTrain’s Lafarge Lake-Douglas Station is recommended for transit users.
Gratitude is extended to the event’s presenting partner, Qualex-Landmark, as well as other partners including Lafarge, Port of Vancouver, RBC, and NOVUS.
Coquitlam’s Corporate Partners program aims to foster community and business relations, enhancing city events, programs, and services.
