The Coquitlam City Council held a regular meeting at City Hall on Monday evening where all members were present alongside various staff members.

The meeting commenced with Mayor Richard Stewart providing an Indigenous territorial land acknowledgment.

The minutes from the January 13 meeting were unanimously approved.

Council discussed the Heritage Revitalization Agreement and Designation Bylaws for properties on Quadling Avenue and Rochester Avenue, focusing on design elements and the significance of the trees.

Concerns were raised about heritage building design and the replanting of trees removed for development.

The meeting included reports from the General Manager of Planning and Development.

Councillor Mazzarolo stepped aside temporarily due to a potential conflict of interest during discussions of a Housing Agreement Amendment.

The council unanimously passed a motion regarding a phased development at Soball Street and continued with discussions on bonus density deadlines.

In other business, the 2025 council meeting schedule amendments were sent back to staff for review.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:30 p.m. with the next meeting slated for February 10, 2025.
